Adult Instruction
Sailing for Adults 1
Sailing is easy! Learn a lifetime skill and meet new people while on the water. This class will teach you all the fundamentals of sailing. Curriculum includes boating safety, rigging, sail handling, and steering a course.
Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Cost: $240 nonmembers | $190 members
Session I: May 28 – June 19
Session II: June 24 – July 17
Session III: July 22 – August 14
Session IV: August 19 – September 11

Battleship Cove Community Boating (BCCB), a non-profit sailing school operated by the USS Massachusetts Memorial Committee, Inc., is celebrating its twelfth year of on-the-water fun at Heritage State Park, Fall River.
Our members put the “community” in “community boating,” so please consider joining us—membership has its privileges!
100% of your membership fee is reinvested into our community-based programs, enabling us to continue our youth services and maintain or upgrade our equipment.

Private Instruction
Scheduled at your convenience and as instructor availability permits, private lessons provide instruction for those who cannot attend a class or prefer individual attention.
Minimum 2-hour lesson
Members: $25/hour
Nonmembers: $30/hour
Extra participant: $5/hour
Race Night
Held on Thursday evenings throughout the summer, Race Night pits your wits against other sailors. These informal races are held in our Cape Cod Mercurys, and people of all skill levels are encouraged to participate as both skippers and crew. The first race is at 6 pm.
Youth Program
Youth Classes (ages 9-16)
Youth sailing classes run in two-week periods and are designed to give a basic appreciation of watercraft and sailing safety. Participants are placed according to size, ability, and experience into beginner and intermediate classes. Classes are taught in our fleet of Vanguard Optimist Prams, Vanguard Club 420s, and Cape Cod Mercury keelboats. So whether your child is a beginner or a seasoned returnee, our program will cater to your young sailor’s needs.

Session IV: August 12 – August 22
Note: Session I will include Friday, July 5.
Youth Sailing Banquet
On August 23, 2012, a youth sailing banquet will be held on board the battleship
Massachusetts to congratulate all of our youth program participants. The event will include a cookout, certificate presentation, and slide show.
Sailing Scholarships
BCCB is strives to teach every child to enjoy Fall River’s waterfront, regardless of financial ability. Through grants and donations from our generous sponsors, BCCB is able to offer a limited number of youth scholarships to qualified families. Since this program's inception in 2000, hundreds of inner-city youths have been introduced to free or discounted sailing at Heritage State Park.

Our Facility and Fleet
Battleship Cove Community Boating provides a safe and convenient sailing venue for both youth and adults. Located just off of Interstate 195. BCCB provides the pleasure of sailing without the hassle of maintaining your own boat. We have an extensive fleet of boats including 12 Cape Cod Mercurys, six Vanguard 420's and twelve Vanguard prams. Our venue provides for terrific sailing with a consistent sea breeze throughout the summer. We also offer mooring rentals, providing access to the many
waterfront attractions by the water.
Mooring and Slip Rentals
Tie up for a day or night at historic Battleship Cove! Bring your dinghy ashore and visit local attractions or restaurants. Mooring patrons are entitled to the museum’s group admission rates ($13/adult, $6/child ages 6-12).
Moorings: $45/night or $10/hr
Reservations are recommended for the use of moorings
