A loyal Battleship Cove volunteer for more than a decade, Nardi has been employed as the museum's curator since 1999. A man of many hats, Nardi is also a US Sailing I-certified sailing instructor and the museum's resident IT specialist.

A member of the New England Archivist (NEA) and the American Association for State and Local History, Nardi was recipient of the Historic Naval Ships Association's 1998 Bos'n Marvin Curry Award for "exceptional service…while making significant contributions to the improvement of Battleship Cove ships and exhibits."

A native of Needham, MA, Nardi is a graduate of Needham High School and studied engineering at Cape Cod Community College and Northeastern University.

Director, past president, and son of a former BB59 crewmember, Mr. David Reilly

LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON: When Dave Reilly was a boy, he would often listen to his father, Joseph Reilly, tell stories about the ship on which he had served in WWII - the USS Massachusetts. As a teenager in the 1960s Reilly joined his father and other BB59 advocates in their relentless efforts to bring the battleship back to the state for which it was named.

Some 40 years later, Mr. Reilly continues this tireless crusade to promote the memorial museum, on whose governing boards he has served since 1974. A director and past president, Mr. Reilly is largely responsible for piloting the organization into the 21st century, complementing its memorial mission with a battery of educational programs and philanthropic partnerships. As such, Mr. Reilly's contributions to the Big Mamie are a fitting tribute to his father's legacy.
