TIP-TOP SHAPE:
In the RITE Program, teachers design TIPs (Technological Interpretive Panels),
which trace a technologys development and associated career paths.Subsequently,
these handsome four-color panels are installed throughout the Cove for the benefit
of the museums visitors. Liz Carter, a RITE Program scholar in 2002 and
RITE support staff in 2003, recently applied the concept of TIPs to her classroom
. Utilizing the pedagogy of project based learning, Lizs students create
TIPs on a subject related to computers (above). As a multi-tasked
project with measurable outcomes, the assignment provides the students with the
same useful skills that a term paper or basic report provides - and it is a lot
more fun! Bravo Zulu, Liz! - |
