Color photograph of Matthew Kudla, World War II Navy Veteran of PT 366. The photo was taken at his home. He is wearing his World War II helmet, a belt of ammunition around his neck, a navy blue sweater and white pants. The flag in the background was flown on PT 366 during battle with four Japanese barges which were sunk on the night of April 29, 1944 in Nightingale Bay, New Guinea by PT 366 and PT 363. After each battle with the enemy, a new flag was raised in its place, and crewmember receives the flag that was in combat. It was MK's turn that night to receive the flag. |
