This will be the third "Female Faces of War" conference addressing topics about women in war situations. This year our theme is "First, do no harm", with a focus on medical needs of women veterans, or of civilians and children affected by
war. The event is sponsored by the YWCA of Greater Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts, and hosted by the "Women Protecting US" exhibit project at the Battleship.

Our 2009 keynote speaker is Brig. Gen Wilma Vaught, president of WIMSA, Women in Military Service to America of Washington, D.C.

Judy Barrett Litoff, PhD, from Bryant University will present a program about a woman Red Cross worker in China.

Our guest speakers will also include Ilona Meagher, author of "Moving a Nation to Care: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder & America's returning Troops" and Abby Picket, an Iraq War Veteran.

We be showing the film Lioness on the evening of the 27th, followed by question and answer session with the film maker, Daria Sommers.
