Behind the Scenes Tours:

In order to provide a more in-depth and enhanced educational experience for our visitors, Battleship Cove now provides Behind the Scenes Tours to allow for a more intimate look at the history, equipment, and people that surround our historic landmarks.

These special tours are by reservation only, with limited availability, and are age 13 and over.

Explore the rarely seen inner-workings of a steam powered battleship with engine room experts. Learn all about the machinery and what life was like for those who worked in these pivotal spaces.

Tin Can Titans: Inside a Destroyer Tour

Learn the history of America's hard fighting destroyers as we explore areas aboard USS Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. not open to the general public.   Up close visitation to all the sensors and weapon systems of this Cold War Warrior is included.


Firepower Tour

Join experts on battleship gun technology in this small and intimate tour of Big Mamie's 16" guns. This tour walks visitors through the process of loading and firing, as well as providing historical context.


Devil Boats: Inside the PT Boat Tour

Join us for a tour inside our two rare PT Boats. These wooden boats were armed to the teeth with torpedoes and were fast combatants in coastal enemy waters. 


"Play Ball" Battle of Casablanca Tour

Hear all about the USS Massachusetts and the Naval Battle of Casablanca.  See the areas of BIG MAMIE that still hold special history from this engagement in which BB59 would be Flagship.


Galley Tour

Have a look into what life was like for those in the supply department aboard the battleship, specifically the cooks and bakers in this food-centric tour. A special galley-style lunch is included.


USS Massachusetts Guided Tour

Enjoy a guided tour of the USS Massachusetts. Learn about the history of the ship and what the areas of the ship were used for. Tour takes about 1 hour- 1 1/2 hours.
