About:
Take a trip back in time as you explore three historic naval ships. You will be able to go on and inside of a Battleship, Submarine and Destroyer as you learn about the roles they played in the wars.
Tickets include admission for all the ships and exhibit buildings as well as the opportunity to sign up for additional workshops.
Workshops
During homeschool day at Battleship Cove there will be a variety of optional workshops to partake in. Some of the workshops are $5-$7 additional per person participating per workshop. Our drop in workshops are free to participate in. Any paid workshops require registration beforehand. Take a look at our workshops offerings for September.
SOLD OUT! Predict the future: Weather Reading and Aerographers Mate
Description: Rain or shine we will learn about what it took to become an Aerographer's mate and how one job could impact multiple fleet strategy, landing zones, and the ability to rescue your fellow comrades. Afterwards, we will take what we have learned and make our own anemometer.

SOLD OUT! Putting the Wind in our Sails: Masts
Description: Full speed ahead as we explore the evolution of masts and sails! Discover how and why people braved the seas, and how their ships helped them get there. Learn about how different types of sails were used for different types of ships, from fishing vessels to military vessels. At the end you’ll make your own ship to set sail with!

SOLD OUT! G-Force!
Description: Get ready as we take a dive into g-force! Feel the pull of gravity as we discover what g-force is, as well as how our bodies are affected when we fly or ride a roller coaster. We will learn about how the military combats g-force for people like airmen and paratroopers.

Bird Watching (Drop in)
Description: Come up to the deck to spot some birds! Battleship cove is located in a brackish river, near estuaries, and by a city! Learn about how all these environments attract different types of birds!
Time: 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

FAQs
Where do I park?
Parking is available at the DCR parking lot at Fall River Heritage state park. Parking is free and if the lot is full the dirt lot in the fenced in area across from the paved parking lot.
Do I need to purchase tickets for my entire party?
Yes, everyone that is attending homeschool day are required to have an admission ticket. Adult discounted tickets are $15 and students are $10. When you sign up for homeschool day please select the corresponding number of tickets needed for the day. Any bookings that are made with only using one ticket for young child will be canceled.
Any additional tickets needed day of will be charged full price. If you need to add any tickets on prior to the day please email battleship@battleshipcove.org and we can help you out.
Are tickets available day off for purchase?
If you would like to buy tickets day of they are available at full price. Please ensure you are purchasing the tickets needed prior to the day at the discounted homeschool rate. Any additional assistance please email battleship@battleshipcove.org.
Do I need to pre-register for homeschool day?
Yes. All attendees for homeschool day are required to pre-register online. Even if you are planning not to attend any workshops you are required to pre-register to get the discounted admission.
When do ticket sales end?
Ticket sales are shut off the Monday night prior to the homeschool day or once the workshops fill up whichever comes first. If you are looking to purchase tickets for a day that says call to book please call us at 508-678-1100 x 123 or email battleship@battleshipcove.org for assistance. If we have space open we will be able to book you over the phone.
I do not want to sign up for any workshops do I still need to pre-register to get the discounted admission?
Yes. If you would like to pay the homeschool discounted rate you are required to pre-register prior to the day of visit. If you would like to come day off regular full admission is available.
I have an EBT card but also want to sign up for workshops. How can I sign up for homeschool day with the Museums for All discount?
The museums for all program is set up to help lower income families attend the museum. We extend this discount to homeschool day for qualifying groups. To use this discount you must email battleship@battleshipcove.org or call 508-678-1100 x123 to get register.
Please do not register only while using a young child admission ticket or your booking will be canceled.
What time is check in and where do I check in?
We open at 9:00 am and you can start checking in then. We ask that you arrive no later than 15 mins prior to your first workshop to ensure we can start the classes on time.
Check in will be right at the Gift Shop which is the main entrance to Battleship Cove.
How long am I allowed to stay for visitation?
During the winter time we are open 9:00-4:00 pm and during the regular season we are open 9:00-5:00 and you can stay the whole time we are open for visitation.
I have a membership and would like to sign up for homeschool day, how do I do this?
If you have a membership you can use your Fareharbor membership number to cover your qualifying member admissions. If you need assistance or need your membership number please email adors@battleshipcove.org or call 508-678-1100 x 123 for assistance.
If you would like to purchase a membership to save money on attending multiple homeschool days memberships can be purchase online. Then you will receive your membership number to sign up for homeschool days.
