Workshops for September Homeschool Day:

  • 10:00 AM Sir Circuits: Find out what makes the world tick in this circuit building class. Students will learn about the basics of electricity and what it means to complete a circuit. Once they have mastered the basics, students will attempt to create their own basic electrical machine! Activity does not include a take home electrical machine. Age Recommendaiton 8+
  • 10:00 AM Paratroopers and the Art of Precision Landing: Learn about the paratroopers      that served during WW2 and their rigorous training. Furthermore, take what      you have learned and see if you have what it takes to help your      paratrooper land in their designated drop zone. Includes a      take home item. Age Recommendation 5+
  • 10:00 AM & 11:15 AM Morse Code: Learn about the importance      and usage of the morse code system. From the morse code alphabet,      deciphering messages, and using your sense of hearing, students will      immerse themselves in this one of a kind experience as it takes place in      our of our original radio rooms. Age Recommendation 9+
  • 11:15 AM Art of Gyotaku: Take a journey back 100 years to Japan as we learn about the art of gyotaku, or fish printing. We will observe the artifacts in the U.S.S. Massachusetts that were brought back from Japan during the war as we discuss why the art form was created and how it’s still used today. After, you will be able to make your own fish print to take home! Includes a take home item. Age Recommendation 10+
  • 11: 15 AM Electrician's Mate and Currents (electromagnet): Explore the powerful engineering of electromagnets in this fun and easy electricity project., and learn why electromagnets are important in our race to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, and what was involved being an electrician's mate during WW2. Includes a take home item.  Age Recommendation 8+
